How we began
Hello, I am Savannah, and together with my husband Jerrell , we run a unique in-home care program that stands apart from others. Our program was born out of frustration after spending countless months looking for a solution that catered to the needs of our oldest child as well as our hectic schedules. As working professionals, we found the structure of most programs challenging to adhere to. After an exhaustive search for a non-existent program, I made the pivotal choice to leave my career. The following 18 months were dedicated to creating and refining our own curriculum. Soon after, Jerrell discovered his passion for teaching and engaging with children, and we both agreed he should leave his career to join me in expanding Itsy Bitsy. Over the last decade, Itsy Bitsy has been operational for over 10 years and has successfully educated more than 100 children. I, Savannah, am a licensed Social Worker, and both Jerrell and I hold CPR and First Aid certifications. Collectively, we bring over 15 years of experience working with children.
We prioritize size and intentionally maintain a very small group, capping at a maximum of 10 children with two adult caregivers. We are committed to ensuring no child feels overlooked, which is a common issue in larger groups. We aim for the experience to feel like your children are visiting a friend for a day of play, rather than attending a daycare.
Another significant distinction is our flexibility. We empower you to take your children out of care for vacations and strongly encourage, if not require, that you keep them home when they are unwell, without charging you for those days (up to 10 days)!
